Implementation

Project state: Rajasthan

Currently the project is being implemented in Mamuni Block in Baran District of Rajasthan.

Baran is a tribal population dominated district in Rajasthan. It is a small town with quite modest infrastructure and is situated 70 -80 kms from Kota - a relatively large and popular city – with the historical monuments. From Baran, Mamuni Block is 60 kms away. In this block there are 10-15 small villages located around the forest. All these villages belong to tribal communities. The villages are Acharpura, Bichi, Nadia, Beith, Balarpur, Amko and the people belong to the tribal communities are Bhill, Saheria, OBC Yadavs, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Similar to other tribal brethrens, the tribal residents of Mamuni are today facing development challenges of poor education, health and livelihood status among its residents. A first hand glimpse of Mamuni gives an image of wide gaps in achieving key educational health and livelihood goals. The women and children are facing challenges almost on a regular basis. All round growth and development has remained as a key challenge in Mamuni today.

Implementation Phases

Phase I

Identification of local NGO
Involving local Panchayat
Identification of target community of 50 tribal women – each at two locations
The two expected locations would be Rajasthan and Jharkhand

Phase II

Identifying needs of target community through survey
Holding of community meeting
Survey of existing activities involving women and community using ICT tools

Phase III

Introducing ICT tools for target women
Deploying ICT tools for specific content creation in local language (Hindi)
Content creation through videography
Content design and compilation in DVD / CD
Preparation of content usage deployment along with printed matter
Preparation of users / training manuals

Phase IV

Deployment of training to target women on health, livelihood and education
Training on computer basics

Phase V

Evaluation and assessment
Feedbacks and course corrections
Progress report compilation

Phase VI

Development of Strategy to make the project self sustaining
Making the intervention identify few entrepreneurial individuals to take the project further on enterprising mode
Add various services to make them sustainable
